Rusty B’s September Newsletter 2020…

Welcome everyone! Here we are, the end of the month, the end of summer, and three months from the end of 2020. I don’t know about you, but this year, regarding my literary world anyway, has been very unproductive in so many ways. I did only one book-signing, and that was back on March 8th, and nothing since except for online events for which I am most thankful. If it were not for Internet book sites, me, and many authors would be totally out of work. I do hope readers keep this in mind when browsing for new material to read. Yes, the brick & mortar bookstores are open but you will not find any authors on hand to greet you, or personally sign their work for you should you happen to pick up a copy. No sense in producing new work, for I cannot personally promote it as before. I feel this problem has totally gotten out of hand, and it is only through the public sector, whom have had enough, that this over-stepping and infringement of people’s Rights & Freedoms will come to an end. Go into your local bookstores, and demand that authors be allowed to personally appear with regards to their work. The only alternative is to buy online. I suggest you all think about doing just that, especially if managers of bookstores do not soon take a stand.

Speaking of Internet book sites and online events, my 5-star, multi-award-winning romantic fiction drama, The Perils of Autumn, was recently a Featured Novel at Awesomegang.com on September 2nd for two consecutive days on their assorted pages, media, and Newsletter. This is a fine book site where you are certain to find that perfect read. Perils of Autumn has been featured a few times on this site, and I am always pleased with the feature. I invite you to check it out at my website, here: https://www.rusty-blackwood.com/awesome-book-promotions-features-perils-autumn/

Beginning on October 6th, The Perils of Autumn will be a Featured Novel at PrettyHot.com and their assorted media sites – including Twitter – for seven consecutive days. I will be posting the feature, and I do hope you will check it out, and share it on.

Although its been slow going, I am finally on the home stretch of Return to Autumn, the sequel to The Perils of Autumn, and I am pleased to say that it’s a much needed and welcomed reprieve from reality, and I am most thankful for that. I hope to send it into production at Tellwell Talent in BC in early 2021, and I thank all of you who continue to enquire it. Hopefully by the time it comes out things will have settled enough to promote it properly. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I’ve recently had a few enquires about dear old eccentric Derwood J. Tugbottom, and his over-the-top antics that have readers slapping their knees in laughter. I must admit this dear audacious English gent is special to me and has become one of my favourite characters. I think all authors have their favs, and Derwood remains one of mine. I will be bringing him back in a new adventure titled, Derwood Comes Home, but at the present time I cannot say when that will be. But continue to check my media sites for updates when I have them.

As I won’t be seeing you before our Canadian Thanksgiving, I would like to wish each of you a wonderful holiday spent however you wish. I will be giving thanks for my wonderful family, and with my wonderful family as we celebrate and welcome the newest addition to our family. My eldest granddaughter Carson and her husband Garrett, are welcoming their first child before the end of this week. The due date was September 23rd, but little one has decided to be late. I so look forward to welcoming ‘my second great grand child,’ and I invite you to watch for the birth announcement on my official website. For those of you who may not know, Carson is my official photographer, and I could not be prouder of her.

My Newsletters of late have been much more condensed, not a lot to talk about, but that will change, I have no doubt. I wish to thank each of you for your wonderful and steadfast support, and I look forward to speaking with you again soon. In the meantime, support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts.

Be well,

Rusty B.
