Niagara author Rusty Blackwood’s May Newsletter 2019 …

End of month greetings everyone! I hope these words find each of you doing well and coping with this constant damp, overcast, wet weather. It has gotten to be a bit much, at least in my opinion, but I refuse to allow it to get me down, nor should you, however, as I am a bit under the weather, this Newsletter is a bit short this month.

This month has been spent doing my second signing in my Initial Niagara Launch/Signing Tour for The Perils of Autumn, networking for the novel, and working on the follow up novel, Return to Autumn. I had a couple of cancellations, which I will get to in a moment, but as it is always said, when one door closes, another opens, and this is very true.

The second leg of The Perils of Autumn’s launch tour found us at the busy Pen Center Coles on Sunday afternoon, May 5th. It was so nice returning to this bookstore with its efficient and welcoming management and staff. They know how to treat an author, self-published or standard, and I applaud their every gesture. Please take this secure link for photographic coverage.

The May 5th Pen Center Coles signing was my only event slated for the month of May. The early June signing for the 2nd at Ancaster Indigo was cancelled, but has been rescheduled for June 30th from 1 – 4:30, so I hope readers in and around Ancaster, and the Hamilton area, will drop by my table at the front of the store located in front of the Local Author display. It is a nice feeling to find one’s name and work among other fine local authors throughout the area. Willow’s Walk is presently gracing their local author shelf with her lovely self, and The Perils of Autumn will soon be joining her. Also, paperback copies of Willow’s Walk, and The Perils of Autumn are on the shelves at Pen Center Coles.

Both titles can be ordered at the cash or order desk at all Coles – Chapters- Indigo.

Earlier in June, on the 15th, I will be doing my 3rd signing in the launch for Perils at St. Catharines Fairview Mall Chapters from 1 – 4:30 pm at the front of the store inside the main entrance. I look forward to whomever I may meet, chat with, and discuss the new, 5-star, page turning novel.

A Blog Tour is a new concept for me having never done one before, but there is always a first time for everything. During the week of June 10th to the 14th., The Perils of Autumn will be making the rounds of different Blogs that have signed up for this online tour being sponsored by Enticing Journey Book Promotions. It will finish the day before Autumn and I are to appear at Fairview Mall Chapters in St. Catharines. Works out well. Do watch for updates on this tour, web addresses, etc. so you may follow along.

I hope everyone is looking forward to a great summer, vacation, time to yourself doing whatever it is you enjoy. Before we know it, it will be behind us and packed away in our memory vault, so enjoy it. I also encourage you to support your local authors as well as all your local talents in the Arts. Remember, those in their assorted fields of the Arts that have become a household name were once unknown, that is, until someone took the time to listen, look, and read.

I thank you for taking the time to read my monthly news, and I hope you share it on, comment, or inquire.

See you next month.

Cheers!

Rusty B
